Summary: ABS is a multi national NGO with a mission to preserve the safety of life at sea. While at ABS I developed extensive experience and knowledge of the classification process and a working knowledge of classification rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyds, BV, NK, etc.) as well as flag state requirements of all the major flags of convenience as well as Singapore, USA, Brazil, and many others. This knowledge also includes extensive experience and knowledge of IMO statutory requirements (MODU Code, MARPOL, Load Line, etc.) I managed and delivered both new construction and upgrade projects for drilling units with contracts all over the world including the GoM, North Sea, South East Asia, and Australia. The emphasis on these projects was the correct installation of safety systems throughout the rig to protect the lives of those on board in event of a life threatening event. An additional consideration was protection of the environment and the asset.
